Marketing Genius

Have you noticed lately there are a lot of commercials on TV about weddings? Maybe it’s because many people get engaged during the holidays. The husband and I will be celebrating our anniversary next month. When it came to planning our wedding Norm had only one request — that it not be in February because he’d been married twice before in February. Other than that, he really didn’t care what we did just as long as he was there.

Like it is for most women, planning the wedding was left up to me. My mother of course helped out with a lot of that. We kept our wedding very simple, so there wasn’t a lot of planning to be done. I found a church, chose invitations, flowers and a cake. The wedding dress just sort of appeared one day as a freebie, so all I had to do was get it altered to fit me. Norm rented a tux and that was pretty much his only responsibility. Since we didn’t have anyone else in the wedding party, we didn’t have to worry about bridesmaids or groomsmen gifts. I wonder if men ever really worry about those things? Mine certainly did not. That’s why the tailor those wedding commercials toward women.
