I Want That Job

These days with the economy the way it is and jobs being scarce one would think that employees would think twice before upsetting their employers and getting themselves fired.   Well, apparently, if you’re a city manager, it’s not that big of a deal because you’ll get a fantastic severance package costing over $120,000.

This great little package comes with six months of wages ($95,004), six months of vacation accrual payoff ($10,962), six months auto allowance ($3,600), six months deferred compensation ($11,400.48), and six months of medical, dental and life insurance coverage ($2,411.64).

Here is a note to the Scottsdale City Council on how they could save on costs:   instead of giving six months of auto allowance at a cost of $3,600, why not just let him ride the Scottsdale trolley for free like everyone else?   And I’m sure there’s somewhere where you can find cheap health insurance?

It seems that working for the government is probably about the best gig you can get even if you’re bad at it.

I’m surprised that a clever bunch haven’t got together for a revolving door seat that the lot can be set for life…
