What you find on the side of the road.

As we drove to church this morning, just a short distance from our house, just before we entered the freeway for the quick trip what do you think we found?

I know there are some of you who would think that we found just another bill board advertising anything, maybe even used cisco. Well, that’s not what we saw on the side of the street leading up to the freeway entrance. It was something natural. It was something that was tall. In fact it was almost as tall as I am.

While I’m not the tallest human being.

6’4″ is not what you could call a shrimp.

If you want to be honest, not all cars will allow some one who is 6’4″ to fit in comfortably.

I’m always happy to be able to drive our van.

What we found is shown below.

I’ve lived in Arizona since the middle 60s, and I think this is the very first time I have seen such a sight. Thought for a minute we were in Kansas……

Love those giant sunflowers! Back when Young’s Farm was still alive, I always bought a dried sunflower head to put up for the birds.

We have some of those things up here in Oregon!! In fact, I’ve grown them in my back yard.

You can take the flowers and harvest the seeds and roast them in the oven.

Much cheaper, though, to just spend a dollar on a bag of sunflower seeds.
