Soup’s On

Our second attempt at DIY Christmas photography failed miserably when we tried to take some pictures only to find out the camera batteries were too low.   I don’t know why this particular camera does not have a battery level indicator.   It doesn’t let you know you need a charge until it’s too late.   Will try again another day.

Anyhow, we took care of some other errands and ended up at our local Safeway.   Since the weather has turned cooler and downright cold at night, I decided it would be a great time for soup.   Safeway has a nice selection of refrigerated soups and my favorites are white cheddar with broccoli and rosemary chicken with white beans.   They are so much better than anything you buy in a can.   I also got a new one to try — Italian wedding meatball soup with spinach.

We went around the Safeway store filling our cart with various items.   It was rather odd today when we got to the checkout lane because nobody said hello.   Usually the checkers are overly friendly people who want to know how your day is going and share their positive opinions about some of the items in your shopping cart.   Today our checker had a very sour look on her face and the man who was bagging our groceries didn’t smile at us either.   It seemed as if these people were going through a colon cleanse or some other necessary unpleasantness.   Even the cart guy in the parking lot, who grabbed our shopping cart just as we took out the last bag, gave a halfhearted response to my “thank you” as he strolled away.   This is very unusual for Safeway.

I’m still looking forward to my soup supper.   Now I just have to decide which one I’m going to have.

I LOVE Safeway soups. OMG…they are so delicious. I love the corn chowderish one…so fattening and yet so good…

Got hooked right in on the CC – had to check it out as the story getting there was very creative. :>)
