Life Is Expensive

Lately I feel like I could use a cash advance.  It seems like every time I turn around something in our house breaks or our vehicle needs repair or one of us needs new glasses or dental work.  It all adds up very quickly and leaves a big hole in our pocket book.  This last year has been very costly and it’s only halfway through.  Life can be very expensive.  Sigh.

Your Call Will Be Answered in 426 Days

The other day I came across some statistics regarding Social Security disability.  Apparently there is a backlog of over 700,000 people waiting for hearings regarding their application for benefits and the average wait time is 426 days.  That’s astounding.

I know of a few people who are in the process of applying for benefits.  It’s a frustrating process to say the least.  Hopefully they will remain sane through the process.

Be Prepared

This weekend kids from all over the country will be hunting Easter eggs.  Candy will be everywhere and so will pimples.  Parents of teenagers will no doubt be searching for the best acne pills.  Here’s an idea, why not fill a few of those plastic eggs with acne pills?  Seems like it would be a good way to kill two birds with one stone.  Aha.

Do I have a sign on my back?

Recently I was perusing the book and magazine aisle at the grocery store.   There I was, minding my own business, when this lady starts speaking to me while she looking through magazines.   After some initial chitchat she asks me if I know of the best diet pills for women.   I must have given her a funny look, because then she explained that she was looking quickly through magazine ads to see if she could find something about diet pills.   I suggested that she go on the Internet and do a search because that’s how I discovered new things myself.   Then she said she didn’t have a computer, so I told her there were free computers to use at the public library.   She thanked me for my time and off she went.   Maybe I just have a sign on my back that says ask me silly questions.

The Age-Old Question

Since I spent so much time at home with my husband it’s always nice to be around other women.   I have a group of lady friends I hang out with now and then.   The conversation is definitely different when I’m with the ladies.   It occurred to me the other day that those conversations aren’t that much different for women in midlife as they are for women who are in their teens and 20s.   The question of the day was how to get rid of belly fat and I’m sure I had similar discussions 25 and 30 years ago when I was in my early college years.   Perhaps it’s the age-old question?

Score One for Me

So.   The other day my brother-in-law showed up, unannounced as usual.   Whenever he comes over he always has some odd question to ask.   This time the question was, “How can I save money on my auto insurance costs?”   My husband suggested that he call a couple of different companies and compare rates.   I knew there had to be an easier way than that, so I suggested we go online and do a search for cheap auto insurance.   And there we found it: cheapestautoinsurance.net.   My brother-in-law didn’t think it would be that easy, but he was wrong.   It was that simple.
