If the government can’t manage its own Cash for Clunkers program what makes them think they will do any better on health care? The truth is that no matter what the government tries to run its always a failure! Just look at the post office, Social Security and Medicare.
Don’t forget our ubiquitous Amtrak! (Having ridden trains in Europe, Amtrak is a huge embarrassment.)
But I disagree with you on one point– Uncle Sam does a bang-up job (pun intended) with the military. Nobody can beat us on a battlefield.
I suppose I should have prefaced my remarks by saying that the government fails when it enters the realm of the private sector. I do agree with you that the US military is the best in the world. That is the realm of government.
But on the battelfied you never see the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barnie Frank or Oh Yes, Baraca Obama.
