It’s Good to Be Prepared

You know the old saying, better safe than sorry?   Well I suppose it holds true for a lot of things in life.   Like it’s good to have automobile insurance, home owners insurance, and backups of your computer files.   You just never know when something is going to happen that could be devastating.   For example, last night I was updating a website for a friend in California and I forgot to test the changes I made before I uploaded everything to the Internet.   It wasn’t until I completely uploaded the entire site, changing all of the files that were already online, that I realized my updates didn’t work right and everything was screwed up online.   Panic ensued as I struggled to figure out what went wrong.   I scanned the HTML and CSS code for over an hour trying to figure out why it didn’t work.   Fatigue and frustration had set in, and I knew it was going to be a long night unless God gave me some insight as to how to solve the problem.

I was praying and Norm was praying and finally an idea came to mind.   My external backup drive had a workable copy!   Thank God I was prepared with a backup of my data files.   I copied code from the uncorrupted backup and everything was restored.   Hallelujah!   Like I said before, it’s good to be prepared and it’s good to ask God for help.
