Ecosystem or Egosystem?

For months now I have been a Marauding Marsupial in the TTLB Blogosphere Ecosystem. Suddenly this evening I have gone from a Flabby Bird to an Insignificant Microbe in a matter of minutes. All the while my blog traffic has remained the same. I sometimes wonder if I ought to forget about displaying my ecosystem ranking just to keep my ego from feeling deflated.

It feels like high school all over again! Life sometimes seems to be about a popularity contest. I was never popular, but everyone knew who I was since I was the only student in a wheelchair! LOL if you got it, flaunt it!

Go to Sissy Willis’s site, specifically this post:

for a possible explanation of what is happening in the blogosphere.

Happened to me, too. I went from Large Mammal to Slithering Reptile.

Sorry, Sissy. How embarrassing. But I’ve been concentrating on your pretty felines. The new, strange phenomenon doesn’t much affect me, lowly entity that I am.

It happens to me too. I find myself worrying needlessly about how many readers I have rather than simply focussing on what God would perhaps have me do with this medium.

Hey, Karen, I “devolved,” too! About the same amount, from Reptile to Microorganism–which is probably where I truly am in the grand Ecosphere of the Web.

BTW, I LOVE what you’ve done with the place! :)
