Medical Minutia
For the past few months I’ve been dealing with a lot of unusual health issues. I’ve been hospitalized twice in three months and tomorrow I go in for outpatient surgery. I have been scanned and poked and prodded and medicated more than I would like in the past few months and the endless questions and forms are enough to make a person ill. Last week I went to a new doctor and had to fill out so many papers detailing my medical history. The hospital, where I will have the outpatient surgery, called me today to get a detailed medical history. Do I have diabetes, Mesothelioma, a heart condition, breathing problems, and all kinds of other questions. Other than my lifelong disability, I’ve been fairly healthy, so there isn’t a lot I have to report. It’s always nice when I can tell a nurse or doctor that other than lately I have been healthy and I do not smoke or drink at all, nor do I abuse prescription drugs or use street drugs. I always smile when I answer that.
Suffice it to say, I’ll be glad when this is all over!
