Cold Weather

This week we saw the gamut of weather with lots of rain, wind and now very cold temperatures.   I live in the southwest because I don’t like cold weather, so days when it’s rather cold and windy I don’t enjoy going out.   (Don’t even ask what the temperature was, it doesn’t matter, it just feels cold to me.) Yesterday we had errands to do and so I braved the cold wind.   Today however I decided that Norm could handle things on his own at the store.   He was kind enough to bring me hot chocolate from Starbucks.   I wonder if that counts as thermogenic fat burners?   Probably not, but one can always convince themselves of anything.

Perfect Weather

This time of year in Scottsdale the weather can be just downright beautiful.   A couple weeks ago it was quite hot, then last week it got cold and now it’s just perfect outside.   The sky is a beautiful cerulean blue and no clouds to be seen anywhere.   The sunlight is crisp and clear.   The air feels so good.   It’s my favorite time of year.

When it’s like this I love to spend time outdoors reading a book.   Couple of mornings ago when it was rather cool out I found a sunny spot and sat there enjoying the warmth of the sun and reading.   For me a good book can be like taking a mini vacation.   Back in the day, many years ago, when I was young and living with my parents, I recall our Pensacola and Orlando vacations and all the fun we would have at places like Disney World. Nice memories.

Perhaps one day I’ll do it again. In the mean time I’ll get back to my book.

From the Oven

The past few weeks have been sweltering hot here in the Valley of the Sun. You leave your house and it feels like you’re in a convection oven with hot air blowing on you from all around. Last Friday one of my friends celebrated her birthday at the Tim McGraw concert at the Cricket Pavilion.

Oh It’s Hot

A heatwave began over the weekend and it’s in the upper 90s even though it’s only April. Not that unusual considering we live in the desert but this year it’s especially annoying because our air conditioner died and we can’t get anyone to come look at it until May 7.

Saturday Observations

When the weather is nice you just want to be outdoors.   Yesterday was one of those days and it was a pleasure to be outside in the warmth of the sun and enjoy the fresh air.   It seemed that most of the week had been overcast and even raining on some days, so it was great to be able to enjoy the weather outside.   Here are some of my observations from my outdoor adventures yesterday:

Thanks, Dave!

Our week started out with a cold winter storm and now it’s quite warm again. Thursday we had to drive out to east Mesa and it was rather cool that morning. By the time we got done with our appointment it had warmed up a bit and when we got in the car we decided to turn on the AC because it was quite warm inside the car.
