Just Next Door.

Mr. Karen here again.

Back in Denver, the house next door had a Gold Fish Pond, it was just a little pond that you would fill with a hose. There wasn’t a fish pond filter or any thing more that a 5 foot round cement 1 foot deep pond. It did have rocks in the bottom and most of the time the water was a dark green.

I can see by the look on your face, you are asking yourself, how did he know about a fish pond in the back yard of the house next door.

I don’t remember how I first found it, but I was at an age that I loved to build plastic submarine models and I love to paint them so once under water in the pond next door, you could not see them below the water’s surface.

No, I never lost one, cause it was my policy to always take my toys home.

Listen to Your Family?

Mr. Karen here once again….Karen’s husband Norm.

The other day I was talking to a family member, not Karen, and we were talking about Mother’s Day. And the suggestion was made that I get the mother of my children a gift. (That’s not Karen.) The suggestion was that I get her the best wrinkle cream. I think it was then I heard, “She needs it”.

At that moment, I thought I was having a Senior Moment. Did I really hear what I think I did?

Being the gentleman that I am I quickly changed the subject.

Denny Crane

Before going any farther, this is Karen’s husband Norm, filling in for the Digital Karen.

It was a couple years ago, for my birthday I received a Denny Crane bobble head doll.

I was a big Boston Legal Fan.

I liked it so much, I really think there were days I would wake up thinking that today I’m going to go ahead with a Boston Job Search.

Trouble was, all I could think of to put on the resume was, “Do You Know Who I am?”

Interesting Techno-Tidbit

You can run but you can’t hide if you’re using GPS. At least that’s what I learned last night while watching an episode of Law and Order: SVU. It seems the murder suspect erased his GPS data as an attempt to cover his tracks but, he didn’t know that his GPS device’s manufacturer kept an online backup of his GPS data. It seems the more high tech we go the more we can be tracked.

Marvelous Designer

Our resident hummingbird, Tinkerbell, has been busy feeding her babies. It’s incredible the way God, the master designer of the universe, created these creatures and how they know just what to do to feed their young. In this video, that Norm took yesterday, you can see the baby birds as they eagerly await food from their mother.

Morning Discussion

When Norm and I first wake up in the morning we often tell each other what we remember from our dreams during the night. Sometimes we can have quite vivid dreams. This morning we both had something funny to share. He dreamed that somebody was chasing him and so he ran into an alley to hide. There was some woman in the alley who said she had something to tell him about the side effects of diet pills. So I asked him what she said and he said he didn’t know because that’s when he woke up. Yes, that was a strange one and consequently we had a good laugh. My dream wasn’t quite so weird. I dreamed we were exploring an old house and I found a kitten hiding in a box. Oh boy! I love it when a dream about kittens. This one was quite happy to see me and started purring the moment I held him. What did you dream about last night?

A Different View

My wonderful husband is a very tall 6’4″ man and I am a very petite woman using a wheelchair that sits me at about 4’2″ tall. There are certain aspects of my husband that I don’t usually notice, such as the top of his head. The other day we were somewhere where I happen to be sitting higher than he was and I was able to see the top of his head and the back of his head quite well. It was interesting to see what I normally don’t see. Note to self: it might be time to do some shopping for hair loss products for men. Oh, by the way, don’t let Norm know I noticed.

Wifely Duties

I don’t know how it is for most wives, but I find it necessary to attend my husband’s medical appointments. For some reason he doesn’t seem to remember what to ask the doctor when he gets there or what the doctor told him when he gets home when I question him about the appointment. So, to make it simpler, I just go with him which he doesn’t mind at all. He’s had a few appointments lately and every time he goes the weigh him on the scale. Last year he was losing weight every time he went to the doctors, but this year it seems he’s gaining weight, although it’s just a couple of pounds. Note to self: perhaps next time we go to the doctor we should ask about diet pills that work.
