Great article from Hot Air’s Doctor Zero on “Why Sarah Palin should not leave the room.”
Here’s the choice meat:
What Palin brings to the health-care debate is the energy, wisdom, and wit to make complex ideas understandable to ordinary people. Let me once again restate my admiration for Charles Krauthammer before saying, with regrettably brutal candor, that Sarah Palin had more impact on the health-care debate with one Facebook note than everything Krauthammer has written in the past year. That’s not because people are shallow, and didn’t pay attention until Palin kicked off a media firestorm. It’s because they understandably seek out leadership on complex issues, and leaders have a knack for rendering fearfully complicated issues down to their essential truths.

This evening Norm and I were honored to meet Wendy Rogers. She’s running for Arizona District 17′s Senate seat. We talked to her for quite a while and I’m excited by what she is doing. It’s not easy going door to door when it’s triple digits outside, but anybody who’s going to run for local office ought to meet the people who live in their district. I like where she stands on the issues and her enthusiasm for using her experiences as a local business owner, Air Force pilot, wife and mother to bring some sensibility to our state legislature. Check out Wendy’s website for more information. I’m sure I’ll be blogging about her again. Stay tuned for updates.

If the government can’t manage its own Cash for Clunkers program what makes them think they will do any better on health care? The truth is that no matter what the government tries to run its always a failure! Just look at the post office, Social Security and Medicare.

Oh, how I want a vacation! My annual vacation is spent in San Diego staying with my family. I have yet to be able to go this year and quite frankly it’s rough but I’m handling it okay. Since Norm and I got married we only had one real vacation and that was two nights in Sedona about nine years ago. Since then we’ve only been able to visit my family in San Diego when we want to get away. I’m not sure Norm considers it a real vacation since he has to spend it with his in-laws.

Charlotte is one of my best friends from high school days. Honestly, I can’t remember how we met, but we would hang out together all the time and if I wasn’t at her house, she was at my house. (more…)

It seems like we’ve been going to the doctors a lot lately. Norm’s been having some issues he’s dealing with, nothing serious, so we go quite a bit to see his doctor. (more…)
