By Your Side
July 26, 2008 by Karen of Scottsdale
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the hectic and tiresome activities of life. The bills are due and there’s not enough money in the bank. You lost your job and now you’re on that seemingly endless job search carousel. Things are not going so well at home and you feel like giving up on your marriage. Another friend has a diagnosis of cancer. You’re struggling with addiction or you just find yourself in a place where depression and despair are every day experiences.
Here’s something to remind you that God is with you during all of the troubles of this world.

Thank You Mr. President
July 25, 2008 by Karen of Scottsdale
Something wonderful happened yesterday that I almost forgot to blog about. We put gas in the van and paid $3.97 per gallon. I used to think that was high until we started paying $4.50 per gallon. Anyhow, we can certainly thank President Bush for rescinding the federal moratorium on offshore drilling which no doubt helped to bring about a $20 decrease in the price of crude oil during the last two weeks. The promise of more supply can have an amazing effect on market psychology. We’ve got more oil in this country than the Saudi’s will ever have. It’s time to drill here and drill now! I’m sure the rest of America is happy to have more money in their pocketbooks available for other things like Orlando vacations and new school clothes.

Even Here in the Desert
July 24, 2008 by Karen of Scottsdale
“Summertime… and the livin’ is easy…” Well that’s what the song says. Things do tend to slow down in the summer and people seem more interested in leisure things and outdoor activities. Even here in the desert where it’s triple digits you see people trying to spend some quality time outdoors. (more…)
