From the Oven

The past few weeks have been sweltering hot here in the Valley of the Sun. You leave your house and it feels like you’re in a convection oven with hot air blowing on you from all around. Last Friday one of my friends celebrated her birthday at the Tim McGraw concert at the Cricket Pavilion. I know she purchased the tickets many months ago not anticipating it would be 116 °F and higher on the day of the concert. The pavilion is an outdoor amphitheater and sitting in the crowd with that kind of heat makes you think you should have purchased some low cost life insurance just in case you don’t survive the night! My poor friend didn’t even get to enjoy Tim McGraw because she was drenched in sweat from head to toe after enduring two other lesser-known acts. Tim McGraw didn’t even come on until about 10 o’clock that night. I don’t blame her for leaving early, nobody’s that good a singer to endure sitting in an oven for several hours.

Thank you Karen. For anyone that has never experienced an outdoor concert in the summer here in sunny Arizona, take my advice…don’t!
