Twitter Review

In case you noticed, or didn’t notice, the Twitter feed on the sidebar is gone. It may come back but not for the foreseeable future. I’m still on Twitter as digitalKaren but I’m not much of a Twitter enthusiast and it seems out of place on my blog. Twitter is one of dozens of free social media applications available on the Internet. Several people I knew were using it so I thought I would give it a try but it’s just not my thing I guess. Too much of a distraction because quite frankly I’m not really a social butterfly. I tend to be an introvert more than an extrovert so social media has its limitations for me. There are times when I do want to be communicative and Twitter does provide an outlet for those quick little burst of “here’s something I did…” or “this strikes me funny…” etc. in which blogging just doesn’t apply. People who work out of their homes certainly feel isolated so Twitter does provide a water cooler of sorts to gather around. So I think there will be days when I will be twittering and tweeting but most of the time I probably won’t as I’m the kind of person who enjoys working alone because I can concentrate so much better!

If you’re following me or I was following you that won’t change because I’ll be checking in now and then so don’t dump me just yet! I only follow people on Twitter who I already have some sort of a personal connection with such as a blogging friend or someone I know in person.

So that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
